Day 1 Start/Bangkok
Fly Thai Airways from YourContry to Bangkok, arriving the following day for two nights in a superior room at the Majestic Grande.
Day 3 Bangkok
Today enjoy a half day guided tour of the Grand Palace and famous temple of the Emerald Buddha (included in the cost).
Day 4 Bangkok/River Kwai
Take an exhilarating narrow long-tailed boat ride along the canals of the colourful Damnoen Saduak floating market. Visit the spectacular Nakorn Pathom temple, then the cultural Rose Garden for lunch. Drive to Kanchanaburi on the banks of the River Kwai for two nights (approx. 110 miles).
Day 5 River Kwai
See the famous Bridge over the River Kwai, where a journey to Wang Po is included on the ‘death railway’. After lunch visit Sai Yoke Waterfall, the Don Rak war cemetery and Jeath Museum where a typical allied prisoner of war camp has been reconstructed (approx. 81 miles).
Day 6 River Kwai/Ayuthaya
Today drive north. After lunch visit a local market and the house boats in the market town of Uthaithani, and then to the ancient capital of Siam. Stay two nights Ayuthaya (approx. 213 miles).
Day 7 Ayuthaya
Explore ruined temples, palaces and Thai handicraft stalls. Later take a boat trip along the Chao Phraya River to the Summer Palace of Bang-Pa-In (approx. 28 miles).
Day 8 Ayuthaya/Sukhothai
Enjoy a train journey north to Lopburi then journey to the ancient capital of Sukhothai (approx. 213 miles).
Day 9 Sukhothai/Chiang Rai
Drive from Sukhothai through tropical jungles and mountain scenery to Chiang Rai for two nights (250 miles).
Day 10 Chiang Rai
Ascend into the mountains by ‘pick-up’ truck visiting an Akha Hill tribe. Drive to Mae Sai for lunch, Thailand’s most northern town on the Burmese border (approx. 107 miles).
Day 11 Chiang Rai/Chiang Mai
Continue through beautiful mountain scenery to Chiang Mai for lunch. Climb the 290 steps up to Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep – the famous hilltop temple for panoramic views over the city (alternatively you may use the cable car). Overnight in Chiang Mai (approx. 114 miles).
Day 12 Chiang Mai/Bankok/London
Visit the elephant camp (approx. 32 miles), then fly Thai Airways to Bangkok and onwards to Heathrow arriving the following day. Alternatively extend your stay on a beautiful Thai beach for four nights or more.
Hua Hin Extension
Ancient Thailand: 10 nights
Hua Hin: 4 nights
Day 12 Bangkok/Hua Hin
Drive by private road transfer, approx. three hours to Hua Hin and an Evason room at Evason Hua Hin
Day 16 Hua Hin/Bangkok/London
Return to Bangkok by road from Hua Hin to connect with your Thai Airways flight to Heathrow.
Koh Samui Extension

Koh Samui: 4 nights
Day 12 Bangkok/Koh Samui
Fly Bangkok Airways to Koh Samui and a Deluxe Garden room at Rocky’s Resort for four nights of relaxation at the beach.
